THE SUMMER SOLSTICE IN STONEHENGE
The Durabo RUNA is the only Complete Calendar which is able to show, on its complex dial, the astronomical alignment that occurs at sunrise on June, 21st in the megalithic temple of Stonehenge. The Summer Solstice was one of the most important days for Celtic tribes. They met in Stonehenge to watch, the sun rising above the "Heel Stone". The Heel Stone is a 35 tons stone block that casts its shadow on the dancing circle, pointing to the best spot to admire the phenomenon.
The cone of shade within the archaeological
site, and the heel stone are all depicted on the face of the RUNA (black zones). Some red signs as
the 21st day, the June month, the chrono small seconds hand in stop position and the small solar disk,
scan the date and show the alignment.
Celebrating the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge, for Celtic tribes, was the mystic and astrological climax
of an esoteric ritual bonding, as New Age scientists say, as well as the perfect alignment with natural
cycles and human biorhythms.
