New Runa watch
The Durabo watches are mechanical automatic cronographs completely hand made, with handicraft techniques, from Italian silversmiths and Swiss masters clock builders. The Durabo watches are produced in limited series; every copy is numbered. Every Durabo watch is a unique piece.
The case of the Durabo watches, constituted by a double valve silver 925 case, is obtained with the method of the lost wax process. This ancient and refined technique, the same used by Benvenuto Cellini and the great Masters of the Renaissance, consists in straining fused silver in treads of chalk derived from a model in wax.
The products of the fusion, the elements of the case and the fibbia to ardiglione, are then finished and calibrated by Italian silversmiths manually.
Every Durabo watch is a unique piece: it is the product of an ancient crafting process and the ability of the silversmiths who make a unique jewel of every Durabo watch. The movement is ETA-Valjoux 7750 and 7751, final product of the best tradition of Swiss clock tradition, opportunely modified and personalized to you for the various models, constitutes the mechanical heart of the Durabo watches. The particular finish treatment of silver, shaped with the cire perdue process, enriches pure silver of luminous tonalities of intense lunar glares; it is “the quicksilver” of the Durabo watches.

DURABO philosophy
DURABO, in Latin, means ‘I will last’ and the cypress tree that appears in the trademark reinforces this concept of duration. This challenge to time is at the heart of the Durabo philosophy. The Durabo motto ‘handmade time’ indicates durability: the skills of craftsmen contrasting with the inevitability of time, which is implied by the Latin adage ‘tempus fugit’.
DURABO watches, available in numbered limited series, are individual and precious pieces. Their rare availabilty on the market adds to their distinction.
They are made for "the few" who will appreciate the quality and durability of a handmade watch; the ones who would search the few, very chosen watchmakers, yet would rarely find such quality and beauty. The Durobo philosophy is: a watch for a few, only for those who are able to make "last" this affection for time.
The "lost-wax" process
To confirm the absolute uniqueness of a DURABO watch, it is not necessary to go far. It is sufficient to say that its body, with its silver 925 case and a double valve, is the result of a "lost-wax" process.
This has been obtained by casting molten silver in a plaster cast derived from a wax model, a method used by the most important Masters of Renaissance and by Benvenuto Cellini for his master pieces.
The finishing touches, including the silver "tongue" buckle, are handmade by Italian silver artisans and this explains why each piece is slightly different from the others. Thus the look of a DURABO watch is as unique as the person wearing it! However, the mechanical heart of the watch, from the best tradition of Swiss watch masters, is an ETA-Valjoux 7750 and 7751 with appropriate modifications and personalizations.
The final result is a mechanical, automatic chronograph with three meters calibrated in weight and dimensions.
An unrepeatable must.
"Quick silver" reflections
It is a little alchemical invention of DURABO. Obtained using a particular treatment in order to enrich the pure silver of lightning tones with intense moon reflections; it is "quick silver" that you will put on by choosing DURABO!

The case is Lost-wax casted in silver 925. (Lost-wax casting, sometimes called by the French name of cire perdue, is the process by which a bronze is cast from an artist's sculpture. An ancient practice.)* explaination from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_wax
The Lost-wax casting/cire perdue process is one of the reasons every Durabo watch is different from another.
It's not only a unique watch it's a witness of historical devolopments such as the casting process. Praxiteles, the most renowned of the Attic sculptors of the 4th century BC used the same techique for his art. And that is exactly what a Durabo is: art! The Durabo watch is art, priceless and yet given great value. Please contact us for more information on our range of watches at info@orologidurabo.it
